Who is George Hackett from The Engines of God and what is their importance?

George is the project engineer. He stands close to seven feet tall and has eyes that are dark and whimsical. George is younger than Hutch, and he is described as innocent, handsome, and ready to move on with his life. George is later killed on Beta Pacifica III when he tries to hold off the creatures attacking the crew, so they have a chance to get away to safety.
