How does Paul react to the waiter who tells him about the apertif?

Paul finds the waiter's mannerisms to be pretentious and Paul therefore acts rudely toward him. Once he is gone, Paul complains to his wife that the waiter had not asked if they even want the ten-Euro apertif but instead had ordered it for them.
