The Diary of Anne Frank
Do you think Anne would have been depressed if she was not in hiding? Does her history seem to indicate that she is a depressed person or not?

I don't think there is any indication she would be depressed. Ann really seems like a normal teen girl going through the ups and downs of adolescence in a very extraordinary time. Her diary indicates a resilience rather than depression. Under the circumstances, she did pretty well emotionally being locked up with so many people in such a small space.
