Who is Ann Druyan from The Demon-Haunted World and what is their importance?

Ann Druyan is Sagan's wife ("the love of my life"), colleague and co-author of a portion of this book, as well collaborator on some of his other works. Sagan notes that he and Druyan came from similar lower middle-class backgrounds and share similar views and enthusiasms for science.
