Upon his father's passing, Harper was left with a deep, jealous rage toward Henri and the favor his father always showed him. Due to this fact, Harper decided to sell Henri. However, shortly after making his announcement, Harper learns that Henri was born to a freed slave; therefore, he is free as well.
