Based on what is known about Teabing in Chapters 50 through 54, I agree with Langdon and Sophie's decision to visit him. Teabing is, according to Langdon, a friend and a Holy Grail expert, which are two things that Sophie and Langdon desperately need at this stage of the book. They have nobody else to trust and they need more information on the Grail if they are to figure out who murdered Jacques and why.
