Why Is Taryn cruel to Jude

Taryn is Jude’s twin sister brought to faerie by Madoc. At first, the two were inseparable. They learned everything about faerie together; read stories with Madoc; rnjoyed time with Vivi, and endured their new life together. However, Taryn’s desperation to fit in with the fey leads her to a betrothal with Locke, despite knowing that he is flirting with Jude. Although she will not admit it outright, Taryn has very low self esteem. She believes that it is okay for Locke to cheat on her because she claims the fey love differently than humans. Furthermore, she does not believe she is worthy of faerieland, and does many, terrible things to Jude to prove she can live among the fey, despite doing it for years. In the end, Taryn is the exact opposite of Jude.
