The Crucible What is the theme in The Crucible by Arthur Miller? Asked by bookragstutor on 20 Aug 05:31 Last updated by Cat on 23 Jun 20:49
Mass hysteria is certainly a big theme of the play. Ironically there is no witchery in the village and accusations are blamed on flimsy or non-existent evidence. It is paranoia and old grudges that fuel the hysteria of witch accusations in Salem.
