How do Billy and Boyd discuss their parents' murders?

Boyd says he does not want to talk about the murders but does say that the attackers called him by name. Billy says that it means nothing and encourages Boyd to go to sleep. On another night, Boyd seems quiet and Billy says that there's nothing Boyd could have done to prevent the murders and that he shouldn't worry about it. Billy says that he has already made himself crazy thinking about it.
