The idea of a death doula itself is a representation of the fear people have towards death and how no one can truly escape it. For Clover, her job allows her to see people’s suffering and give them the compassion and help they deserve in their final days. It is a job that would not exist if everyone had the support and courage to face their deaths of that of their loved ones. Yet, with the unpredictability of emotions and the vastness of grief, an unbiased, compassionate observer is often the best thing anyone can have in their final moments.
