Why does Jess Wilson apply for and accept the job at Home Group?

Jess applied for a job with the Home Group so she could have the opportunity to be close to Jackson and Georgia, the couple she believed was driving the car that hit the car in which she and her parents were riding. Jess’s father was killed instantly. Her mother survived in a coma for several years before she died. Jess accepts the job in order to exact revenge.
