How does Adam Groom's connection to his brother lead to his death?

Adam Groom is the director of special projects at the Home Group. He is the younger brother of Ned, the CEO of the company. Adam attends the launch with the intention of telling Ned that he is going to leave the company. He is mistaken for Ned and murdered savagely the night of the theatrical performance.
