Importance of knife

The knife is symbolic of Nahri, as they can both soar through the air and are difficult to control. The knife Dara uses to train Nahri is sharp and exact. Nahri pleads with Dara to let her use magic on it, the way he does, but Dara refuses, telling Nahri her use of magic is unpredictable and dangerous.
