How does the author use foreshadowing in The Caretaker?

In Act I, Davies is fired because of his unwillingness to do a job that he considers beneath him. This foreshadows the outcome, as Davies' unjustified expectations and lack of gratitude toward the person who rescued him leads to Davies' being "fired" from his caretaker's job.
