What is the theme in The Call of the Wild by Jack London?

Civilization and the wild is a theme involving two worlds that Buck must contend with. Buck has to learn to adapt to an entirely new way of life and code of conduct in order to survive in the North. He is far from his pampered live in California and must lean "the law of the club and fang" in order to survive.
