Who is Joe Chicago from The Broken Bridge?

Joe Chicago is the likely the most misunderstood character in the novel. When we are introduced to his character, he is the dangerous one.... the guy you need to stay away from. Over the course of the novel, we come to learn that Joe is simply an artistic, gentle man, who cares for his elderly mother and goes about his own business. Looks can be deceiving.
