what is a character that stood out in chapter 4 and why?

I really like Matt, the protagonist. In chapter 4, Matt worries about dropping the casket as he helps carry it inside. When Mr. Ray opens the casket, Matt is surprised to find that Nancy was a college student. No one knew she had asthma until she had an attack and died. Matt is a respectful and sensitive teen.
