The Boy in the Black Suit

In Chapter 13, the author uses onomatopoeia (“buzz”) whenever Matt’s phone gets a text message. Usually the “buzz” is on its own line. What effect does this have on the reader?

In my opinion, this makes the reader increasingly aware of the number and frequency of the texts... the urgency.
