The captives were forced to walk for three months on their journey to the coast. During that time they were shackled and yoked... led in a coffle. One prisoner commits suicide by climbing, then jumping from a tree. The kidnappers beat and strip the captives naked.... humiliating them at every turn. Prisoners are branded with hot irons.
