What is Tibetan Children's Village?

Aside from engaging in a conversation about joy, the purpose of the meeting between the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Tutu was to celebrate the Dalai Lama's eightieth birthday. At the end of their week together, a surprise birthday party was held at the Tibetan Children's Village, one of the schools established by the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala meant to preserve Tibetan culture.
