What happens when Liesel sees Max being marched through town with a Jewish prisoner parade?

When Liesel sees Max in the crowd of prisoners, she runs to him and tries to march next to him. A guard pulls her away, but Liesel returns and tries to speak with Max. The guard becomes irate and starts beating Liesel with a whip. Rudy runs to Liesel's rescue and pulls her away from the guard.
