The Black Cat (BookRags) What possible symbol(s) might the reader understand from the white spot on the second cat? Asked by bookragstutor on 28 Nov 08:47 Last updated by anonymous on 07 Feb 21:37
The white spot begins to look like a noose as the story continues. It may represent the narrator's conscience, or the fact that fate is intervening to set things right. OR, it could be that the narrator's misdeeds are coming back to haunt him.
