Who is Theo, the Thestral from The Beggar Queen and what is their importance?

Theo is Mickle's closest friend and future husband. He is an artist, who was drawn into the war and found he was a good soldier. He was called the Thestral, because he became a brutal and intense fighter. But he wants to put that all behind him and live in peace.
