Rosine is the young and beautiful ward of Bartholo. Bartholo means to marry Rosine, but his plans are thwarted when she falls in love with Count Almaviva. Over the course of the play, we see Rosine refuse to marry Bartholo, agree to marry Bartholo, and then finally come to terms with the Count's true identity and purpose.... thus, pledging her love.
