What do the Berbers do to David in Chapter 42, when he rides out to them?

The Berbers grab him, take him to a tent, and strip off his clothes. Then they make him sit with Egyptian cobras crawling over him. Then they take him outside, drag him to the ground, and hold him. The chief takes a burning iron prod into David’s chest and he loses consciousness.
