How does Kate get to the building where Martin is in Chapter 41?

Kate steals an ID badge. Then she goes into the kitchen, finds a chef’s robe, and cuts it to fit her and hide the stains. Then she follows a sick couple to the building. There she flashes a badge and tells the guard she is on official business.
