While researching her family history, Alberta learns that her grandfather really died of suicide, that she was not the only member of her family plagued by miscarriages and stillbirths, and that there were death records for two stillborn babies with Bert’s father and mother listed as the parents. In addition, her grandparents were listed as parents on birth certificates for eight other stillborn babies.
