In Chapter 11, Allan first works at the behest of President Truman and democracy in assisting Soong Mei-ling's mission to thwart Communist forces behind enemy lines in China, and then turns coat and works for the communists by helping Jiang Qing break out of captivity and return to her husband Mao Tse-tung.
