This story is told from a third person omniscient perspective as Finkel relates what he learns from the veterans, their family members and the care takers to whom he speaks. Because Finkel is present during many of the events he tells about, he is able to relay not only what people say to him but is also able to describe to his reader what they look like, how they are dressed and what their posture says about them.
