Fred Gusman remembers that when his father came home from World War II, he began beating Fred with a belt. Fred did not know why his father did that, but he did know that it did not take much to trigger the violence in his father. Fred does not know if his father had post-traumatic stress, but he remembers that his father was very weird and violent.
