What does Adam do at the end of Chapter 13?

Adam gets so tired of Saskia's texts and begging him to come home that he packs and starts to drive home. He does not know what to do. He keeps driving. Then he makes a decision and turns the car back around and goes back west. He decides that he will tell Fred everything about the guilt that he carries.
