When Amanda saw the soldiers wearing their Class A uniforms, she knew that they must be there to tell her that her husband had died. Before she allowed them to give her the news, she turned off the oven where she had been baking cookies. She mad a list. She phone neighbors and asked them to come get the girls. She called her mother and asked her to come. She made sure the bathroom door where her daughters were taking a bath was shut.
