After Amanda received the box with her husband's ashes, for a while she took it everywhere. She took it to his parents' house for Christmas, and she strapped the box in with a seatbelt all the way to Arkansas. Once she transported him in a laundry basket to her friend Sally's house. For a long time she kept him on the bedroom dresser. Then she moved him to the guest room. Then she carried the box to the tornado shelter in the basement. Finally, she put the box in the gun safe.
