How does Nick convince Lorne Lutch to take the bribe in Chapter 18?

In Chapter 18, Nick goes into Lorne Lutch's farmhouse with a suitcase full of money. He explains that the money is Lorne's regardless of what he does with it, and he suggests the most effective way to tell the media that Big Tobacco is trying to buy him off. Nick offers the caveat; however, for the indictment to stick, Lorne has to do it quickly and cannot keep any of the money. Lorne eventually takes the money.
