. In chapter thirty-nine, Shauna tells David about the weight and height difference on the autopsy report. David talks with Carlson because of Shauna's belief that Carlson no longer believes in David's guilt, but doesn't admit to anything. In chapter forty, Shauna arrives at a photo shoot and finds a message directing her to the restroom. There she finds Elizabeth. Elizabeth initially says that she's leaving the country in the hope of keeping David safe, but Shauna argues that to leave David again will be devastating. Elizabeth says that Shauna should tell David to meet her at the Dolphin that night, saying that David will know what it means. This sounds risky for both David and Elizabeth.
