How is Marilyn's home on Tudor Drive different than Ria's house on Tara Road in the novel, Tara Road?

Unlike the house on Tara Road, Tudor drive is neat and prim, almost to the point of being sterile. Marilyn has almost no photographs or personal effects in the house whereas Ria's home is with filled with photos, warmth and love.
