The Hermanos al Rescate, or Brothers to the Rescue, was a group founded by Cuban emigrés in the 1990s. The group established a makeshift air force in order to patrol the waters between Cuba and Florida. They saved innumerable refugee lives, alerting the Coast Guard when they found individuals seeking asylum in the United States.
