Dan Skorski is a former rubber plant worker, who is also a writer. His work is noticed by Mr. Signo at WorldWay books. Unfortunately, Skorski does not stay with WorldWay because his drinking consumes his life. He continues to drink in Tijuana, where, while intoxicated, he tries to pull down a statue of Jesus in a public park.
