What does Timon do with his chest of gold at the end of his story?

At the end of the story, Timon, while digging in the dirt, finds a chest of gold. Soon after this discovery, an army appears, marching on Athens and headed by Alcibiades, who had been betrayed by the Athenian senators. Timon gives Alcibiades the gold telling him to level Athens and kill everyone.
