In Pericles, how does Marina become a slave?

Pericles leaves the baby Marina with Cleon and Dionysia, the rulers of the land he saved from famine. Marina grows into a beautiful, virtuous maiden. Dionysia is jealous and plans to have her servant kill Marina. However, pirates carry Marina away before she can be killed and sell her as a slave at Mitylene.
