Why did Macha curse the men of Ulster in the epic, The Cattle Raid of Cooley?

Macha gave birth to twins after the race against the King of Ulster's chariot. Afterward, she cursed the men of Ulster with labor pains for their cruelty towards a woman in childbirth.
