How do the two white men pester Mout' in Chapter 9?

In Chapter 9, the two white men at the door of Mout' Broussard's house want to locate his son, Cool Breeze. One of the men is the nephew of Harpo Delahoussey. The man's uncle is the individual who blackmailed Cool Breeze into allowing Ida to cook in his restaurant. The younger Delahoussey and his accomplice wait all night for Cool Breeze to show up at Mout's place. Shortly before daylight, the to men leave, but not before killing Mout' Broussard's dog, Rafe.
