Robicheaux goes to a cockfight in St. Landry Parish to look for Scruggs. When Scruggs finally arrives, Robicheaux tells him that Ricky Scarlotti is dead. This means that Scruggs will not be able to collect on the contract to kill Cool Breeze Broussard.
