"Sum, Forty Tales from the Afterlives," by David Eagleman, is a collection of forty scenarios about what might exist in the afterlife and the identity and role of the creator. Many of the short tales are written with humor and are light and enjoyable. Other tales have a more ominous tone that even speak in terms of suicide and murder and the decline of god and man. Each tale does have a thought-provoking element and each one is written cleverly with intelligence and often in great detail.
