The war had long-lasting effects of change on the people of the nation. The people were said to be sociologically and physically changed. Many hoped that this war would encourage equality and the break down the wall of segregation in terms of social classes. Unfortunately, this did not happen and instead created an uprising that later developed into the creation of subcultures.
