In your opinion, how does the content of this book affect present day society in America?

The text gives a historical view of why these subcultures were created. Many if not all of the subcultures mentioned are still in existence today and generally operate under the same principles. In essence, the book does not change present day society, but enlightens its readers on why subcultures are in existence.
