In Chapter 4, how does Hebdige explain the creation of white subcultures?

Hebdige states many of the principles that make up the white subcultures were learned from the black subcultures. For example, the mod subculture is made up of white participants who have a strong love for black music. The beats, also a white subculture, consists of educated, white participants who model the poverty of the black culture.
