What is The Art Show

The art show is symbolic of Andrea coming out. While Ryan is aware that Andrea is a lesbian, it is not until he sees her interacting with her community that he understands that Andrea is not her true self when she is with him, but pretending to be something that she is not. When Ryan leaves Andrea at the art show, he is stunned because he is being forced to recognize who Andrea truly is.
