Miriam (Strangers on a Train) is Guy's ex-wife. She had an affair with a married man named Owen, and left Guy. They have been separated for more than 3 years and both she and Guy have moved on. However, they are still legally married, which Guy wants to remedy. He is traveling to her to get her to sign the papers. She doesn't want to do this as she is pregnant with Owen's baby and wants the money and prestige that being married to Guy offers her. Guy detests her. She later ends up having a miscarriage.
