What does Nortie do that causes him to say, “I did it! I blew everything!”

Nortie hit a child at the care center.... a boy who had been giving the other children trouble and racial slurs toward some of them. After several attempts to get the boy to stop, Nortie grew frustrated and slapped him several times. Immediately regretting what he had done, he ran from the center to Walker's house.
